Golf mad ATi teed-off for the annual British Water charity golfing tournament on 29th June, which raised over £1000 for its chosen charities!
Although the sun hiding behind the clouds, the excellent company, combined with enthusiastic team spirit, made sure everyone had a fantastic day….although ATi didn’t manage to bring the silverware home this time!
British Water’s 2017 annual Charity Golf Day took place at Luton Hoo Hotel Golf and Spa Resort on Thursday 29 June, sponsored by Water Active, for the 16th year running!
Now firmly established in the industry calendar, this is a day to enjoy a challenging round of golf followed by a networking dinner and prize-giving. Open to all British Water members, non-members and their guests, the day is very much an occasion to enjoy good company and to raise money for charity.
ATi donated two corporate tickets for the Manchester United first leg of the European cup to the auction and in return we bid on some of the other fantastic prizes available. The whole ATi golf team bid for a game of golf and Garry walked away with a helicopter ride for 4 people, which he will give to the winner of the ATi Employee of the Year in December.
This year, the participants raised over £1,000 for the two chosen charities. The first was an International charity, Water Aid, which provides safe water to the world’s poorest people, whilst raising the fact that 2.5 billion people in the world do not have access to adequate sanitation and hygiene education.
The second was Water for Kids, which has transformed the lives of over 390,000 people during the past 20 years. Water for Kids have provided water, sanitation and hygiene education to 154 communities in nine countries.
