Analytical Technology is pleased to announce it has been awarded the sustainable, environmentally responsible ISO 14001:2015 standard, demonstrating our company’s ethical and responsible approach towards employees, environment and business operations.
Following on from our successful transition of the Quality Management System element in September 2017, ATi made the strategic decision to also upgrade its ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. This internationally acknowledged ISO certification recognises companies that have adopted environmentally responsible practices in their business processes. These certifications establish that the company meets high global standards in both areas.
ATi’s Quality Team spent the last six months providing organisational guidance to achieve all of ISO’s certification requirements in these categories. After a thorough review of our environmental management systems, third-party auditors concluded that ATi’s systems met all the updated requirements, without any non-conformance, during the full 2-stage process, that also included a site visit.
Major changes to the ISO standards were introduced in 2015, with key improvements to make it fit for the future. ISO 14001:2015, which sets out the requirements for an environmental management standard, is one of the worlds most widely used standards and a key business tool for many organisations.
With more than 300,000 certificates issued globally every year, it ranks high on the agenda of many organizations worldwide who place importance on their environmental impact.
The revision process has helped to bring the standard up to date and fit for 21st century and has been updated to ensure that it continues to help organisations improve business processes, save money and deal with future environmental challenges.
ISO 14001 provides a framework for organisations to develop their business whilst reducing the environmental impact of growth, decrease waste and save energy. ISO 14001 also helps businesses become more innovative, improve management system process, meet regulatory requirements and enhance corporate reputation among investors, customers and the public. Ultimately, the new standard will help companies like ATi stay abreast of the changes in the environmental arena, ensuring they remain ahead of the curve.
In line with its sustainability strategy, ATi is striving to minimize its environmental footprint by increasing energy efficiency and continuously improving measures taken to protect people and the environment.
Mike Strahand, Managing Director of ATi Europe, said, “As a company, we are focused on developing our operations, while continuously improving the safety, quality and health of our employees and customers. Naturally, we are well aware that our environmental objectives represent a pillar of sustainability for the company and the industries where we operate. The recent certificates are further proof that ATi is delivering highest quality services, while taking care of the environment and the safety of its employees.”
ATi is now looking forward to our next planned step, which is to transition the Health and Safety Management system element to the requirements of ISO45001: 2018 that was recently published in March 2018.
