Last Christmas, ATi encouraged its employees to forgo the traditional gesture of sending Christmas cards. Instead, we opted to donate the money to help support our local RSPCA branch that had recently opened in Springhead.
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) is divided into over 160 branches which are responsible for their own fund raising. They help rescued cats and dogs get the best possible second chance in life and also provide affordable veterinary care to those who most need it.
With the money raised, we purchased essential items that the RSPCA desperately require on a daily basis. Emma, Alicia and Ann enthusiastically volunteered to deliver the ATi goody box and made some furry friends along the way!
We chose this month to make our donation as Summer is the RSPCA’s busiest period. There are more abandonment’s at this time of the year than any other and they receive a staggering 50 percent increase in calls about animal abandonment compared to winter, with an average of nine animals reported every single hour.
This endeavor is an ideal way for us to fulfil our ethical corporate responsibility and make a worthwhile contribution to a local good cause!
